Do you remember when the night was so dark and the moon shining bright?
When a weekend full of mystery, fun and challenge took nothing more then some dice, pen and paper? Then you also remember, that all came to life just with your imagination. Imagination that was not doused by coldly calculated polygons and flashy 3-D graphics. A great game is easily recognized, by how fun it is to play and how long you enjoy it. In the shortlived world of MMO’s Lineage is 13 years alive, still growing and still successful.

Lineage is a MMO from NCsoft. It has been running in Korea for 13 years now, and available in the North America for 10 years now.

In honor of the 10 year anniversary of Lineage in the North America service region, we present:Lineage Library Chars

LinLibChars is a character simulator, made by fans for fans. The simulator allows you to enter your character data as they appear in the game and allows you try different builds, with different equipment or buffs. An in-game time chart makes the simulator a great addition to any game session.

Cool, how does it work?

The simulator is very intuitive and works similar to the online simulator available on our website, www.linlib.com. When you start the app you will see a black bar at the bottom with Main and Times as possible views. Grayed out between them are Character, Equipment and Buffs. Above the bar are a cogwheel and an anvil. The cogwheel takes you to the credits and allows you to disable the music. The anvil lets you create a new character. You can select the class along with the gender.

Now the grayed out buttons become available. Character lets you distribute your statpoints, gives elixirs and levels up. As you progress entering your character information, you will see how each decision will reflect on the character. The simulator remembers every decision and allows you to go back and replace your points.

Equipment will show a modern version of the paper doll you, similar to the equipment display in-game. Just tap on any slot and select the item you want to equip there. Items with a red description belong to a set. Unlike the game, the simulator allows you to try items that can’t be worn by your class. If you are in doubt about an item, just have a look at Lineage Library for the detailed info about every item in the game. Like in the game, most items can be enchanted. As soon an item is selected, you can change the enchantment by taping the + or – signs. The equip button will equip the currently selected item and return you to the Equipment view. The unequip button will remove any equipped item in the slot and then return you to the Equipment view.

The Buff view is a list of the most commonly used buffs in the game. If a set is worn, any set bonus your character gained from items will be displayed. For instance: a classical set that is often used by Knights is the Red Knight Hood together with the Red Knight Shield. Wearing those items will grand you: +2 Armor Class, +5% Magic Resistance and +10 Hitpoints. This set bonus will be displayed for your character when these two items are equipped together.

If you want to save your current character, just return to the Main view. You will notice a new button now that looks like a large bag. This button takes you to the roster. You can name and save your current character here. Feel free to save your character with different stat builds or equipment. Updating a previously saved character is simply done by selecting the character and touching the Update button.

Last, but not least, is the time chart. The time chart shows you the location of all boats in-game along with a countdown for global events like the opening of a Crack of Time rift or the Castle Sieges. As a bonus, the chart also shows all known spawn windows of bosses.
